Co-active coaching: The difference between being and doing
Long before we decided to put the Playhouse Partnership together, I spent a lot of time looking for the right kind of coaching. But before we step into the specifics of the method of CTI (which comprises four pillars, or cornerstones) I wanted to share the reasons why it appeals to me in particular, and likely has applicability in your world.
Practicality
You get to practise. And as we’ve discussed, having an opportunity to test out theory is crucial.
Each CTI Co-Active module includes hours of practicing the cornerstones. We’ve tried them in brief, in depth, intimately and in front of a class of other coaches. We’re not allowed to walk away from a cornerstone: we pocket them and use each as appropriate in our practice.
Community
CTI has a huge network. Personally, I have found three groups of networks of coaches in the US, and two more in the UK, plus one in mainland Europe, the Middle East and Asia.
This is valuable to us as coaches as we’re able to collectively, continuously grow, but it’s also valuable to you as our partner. If we’re not able to support you from our house, we step outside and ask our community for their support on your behalf.
Integration / Integrative / Holistic
Holistic has become a bit of a catch-all for any kind of coaching, teaching or wellness practice, but combining CTI Co-Active and The Playhouse Partnership, means we can coach individuals as a whole.
We firmly believe in meeting people where they are, holding space and supporting them in finding the tools around them, which can support their growth.
I personally have years of experience in the corporate world: building teams, understanding sales and selling, presenting and strategising, but through my Co-Active training, I was truly able to go one level deeper with individuals and my teams.
It’s funny, but standing still has allowed me to accelerate and that’s something I look forward to exploring further with you.
